W 40th Gunfire Report - Please Pray
October 2, 2026
A livestream reported a shooting at West 40th Street and Stannus Street at approximately 12:01 a.m. Witnesses described what sounded like more than 100 automatic-weapon rounds.
At least one person may have been injured seriously enough to require a tourniquet. A passerby shouted “my baby,” raising concern that a child might also have been harmed, but that claim remained unconfirmed.
The report provides preliminary eyewitness information rather than verified official findings.
