Editorial Standards & Corrections
Last updated: September 25, 2026. The Arkansas Patriot is published by Get Alerts LLC. This page explains where our stories come from, how they are produced, what we will and will not do, and how to get something fixed.
What we are
We are an independent breaking-news alert publication. We are not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any political party, campaign, candidate, PAC, or media conglomerate. We aim to report what happened, clearly and without spin; where a piece is analysis or commentary rather than news, we label it.
Where our stories come from
We monitor wire services, national and regional news outlets, official statements and press releases, court filings, legislative records, and public government data. Most of what we publish is a summary and analysis of reporting first done by others. When that is the case, we say where the information came from and link to the original so you can read it yourself. We do not claim other outlets’ original reporting as our own.
How our stories are produced
Some of our articles are drafted with the help of AI writing tools working from source material our editors select. Nothing publishes itself. An editor selects the source, sets the angle, reviews the draft, and approves the piece before it goes live. We disclose this because readers deserve to know how what they are reading was made.
We do not publish claims that do not appear in an identifiable source. If a fact cannot be traced back to a named outlet, an official record, or a public statement, it does not run.
Headlines
We write headlines to be read. They are direct and they are meant to grab you. They are also meant to be accurate. A headline should never promise something the story does not deliver. If you think one of ours crosses that line, tell us — we will look at it, and we will change it if you are right.
News, analysis and opinion
We publish straight news, analysis, and opinion. Opinion and commentary represent the views of the writer. We do not present opinion as though it were a reported finding of fact.
Reader polls
Our polls are informal surveys of our own readers. They are not scientific polls. Respondents choose themselves, the sample is not weighted, and it is not representative of the country, a state, or any other population. We report them as what they are: a snapshot of what our readers think. We never describe a reader poll as a measurement of public opinion.
Corrections
We correct our mistakes. That means:
- Tell us and we will look. Write to news@thearkansaspatriot.com with the headline, what you believe is wrong, and how you know. We review every request.
- We fix the article. Factual errors are corrected in place, and we add a dated correction note at the bottom of the story saying what was wrong and what it now says.
- We do not quietly delete. If a story is wrong enough that it cannot stand, we say so on the page rather than making it disappear.
- Typos and broken links are simply fixed, without a note.
Advertising and independence
This publication is free to read and is supported by advertising and sponsorships. Advertisers have no say in what we cover or how we cover it. Paid placements are labeled. See our Advertising & Sponsorship page for the full disclosure.
Your privacy
We ask for your email address so we can send you alerts. We do not sell or rent our list — not to advertisers, not to campaigns, not to anyone. See our Privacy Policy.
