Terms of Service

Effective date: September 22, 2026. Last updated: September 25, 2026. These terms are the agreement between you and Get Alerts LLC, the publisher of The Arkansas Patriot. Please read them before using the site.

By visiting The Arkansas Patriot, subscribing to our alerts, or voting in one of our polls, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

The Arkansas Patriot is published by Get Alerts LLC (“Get Alerts,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), which provides news coverage, commentary, and free email alerts. Our mailing address is Get Alerts LLC, 548 Dave Creek Pkwy, Fairfield Bay, AR 72088, and our contact address is news@thearkansaspatriot.com.

2. Who may use the site

You may use this site if you can form a binding contract where you live. The site is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not subscribe. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. What we provide

We provide news coverage and commentary on current events, plus a free email alert service. Our articles include both factual reporting and opinion. Opinion and commentary represent the views of the author and are offered as protected expression, not as statements of fact. How we source, produce and correct our work is described on our Editorial Standards & Corrections page, which is part of these terms by reference.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site or the alert service at any time.

4. Email alerts

When you give us your email address, you are asking us to send you news alerts and related updates. The service is free. Volume varies with the news. Our emails carry advertising, which is what pays for them. Every message includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We do not sell or rent our list.

5. Reader polls

Our polls are informal surveys of our readers. They are not scientific polls. Respondents are self-selected, samples are not weighted or representative, and results should not be treated as a measurement of public opinion. We may publish, summarize, and republish poll results, including in our email and on social media, in aggregate form.

6. Advertising and sponsored content

This site and our emails carry advertising and sponsored content. That is how the publication stays free to read. Paid placements are labeled as advertising or sponsored, and some links may be affiliate links that earn us a commission if you buy something — where that is the case, we disclose it on the page.

An advertisement is not an endorsement. We do not independently verify advertisers’ claims. Any dealing you have with an advertiser — including payment, delivery, and any warranty or representation — is strictly between you and that advertiser, on their terms, and we are not a party to it and not responsible for it. Our full policy, including what we refuse to sell, is on our Advertising & Sponsorship page.

7. Your submissions to us

When you send us a news tip, a correction, a comment, a poll answer, or any other material, you keep whatever rights you already had in it. You also grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, quote, edit for length and clarity, publish, and archive that material in connection with this publication and its email.

Please do not send us anything you do not have the right to share. Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing beforehand, we cannot treat an unsolicited submission as confidential, and we do not pay for unsolicited submissions. If you ask us not to use your name, we will honor that.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, threaten, or defame anyone.
  • Scrape, harvest, crawl, or bulk-copy the site or our email list, or use automated tools to overload our systems.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, our accounts, or our infrastructure.
  • Vote repeatedly in a poll using multiple addresses, or otherwise manipulate results.
  • Impersonate us, or use our name, logo, or branding to suggest an endorsement we did not give.
  • Frame, mirror, or present our content in a way that misrepresents its source or implies an affiliation that does not exist.

9. Our content

The articles, headlines, images, logos, and design of this site are owned by Get Alerts LLC or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read our work, link to it, and share links freely. You may quote a short excerpt with attribution and a link back. You may not republish entire articles, or use our content to train commercial machine-learning systems, without our written permission. Names, marks, and logos of other organizations belong to their respective owners.

10. Third-party content and links

The site quotes and links to reporting from other outlets and embeds posts from platforms such as X and Facebook. We do not control that content and are not responsible for its accuracy, nor for the privacy practices or terms of those platforms. Links are provided for reference and are not endorsements.

11. No professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, medical, tax, or investment advice. Our coverage of elections, legislation, and public affairs is journalism and commentary, not guidance for your particular situation. Consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you read here.

12. Accuracy and corrections

We work to report accurately, and we correct errors when we find them or when readers point them out. If you believe something we published is inaccurate, write to news@thearkansaspatriot.com and tell us what is wrong and why, and we will review it promptly. Our corrections process is set out in full on our Editorial Standards & Corrections page.

13. Copyright complaints

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to Get Alerts LLC at news@thearkansaspatriot.com that includes: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the work you claim is infringed; identification of the material on our site and where it appears; your contact information; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We remove infringing material when a valid notice is received, and we terminate repeat infringers.

14. Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including readers who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology, and we are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. If you run into something you cannot read, reach, or operate, write to news@thearkansaspatriot.com and tell us the page and what happened. We will work with you to get you the information you were after and to fix the problem.

15. Electronic communications

When you use this site or write to us, you are communicating with us electronically, and you consent to receive communications from us electronically. Notices, disclosures, and agreements that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and the alert service are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that every alert will be delivered.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Get Alerts LLC and its members, officers, employees, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or the alert service. Because the service is provided to you free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Get Alerts LLC and its members, officers, employees, and contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your misuse of the site or your violation of these terms or of any law or third-party right.

19. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the site or the alert service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or if we discontinue the service. You may end this agreement at any time by unsubscribing and no longer using the site.

20. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at news@thearkansaspatriot.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Arkansas, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

21. General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. Sections 6 through 9 and 16 through 21 survive the end of this agreement. Neither of us is liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages, natural disasters, and acts of government. Section headings are for convenience and do not affect meaning. These terms create no rights in anyone other than you and us. You may not assign these terms; Get Alerts LLC may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the publication. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and our Editorial Standards & Corrections policy, are the entire agreement between you and Get Alerts LLC regarding the site.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the publication changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.

23. Contact

Questions about these terms go to news@thearkansaspatriot.com, or write to Get Alerts LLC, 548 Dave Creek Pkwy, Fairfield Bay, AR 72088.
